Today we learned about what the Earth does to create day and night, and how the seasons are made.

We looked at a picture of the sun and the Earth. We learned that the sun is so much BIGGER than the Earth! We also learned that the sun does not move. We also saw that the Earth travels around the sun, making day and night as it turns around.

With a partner, we took turns being the Earth and the sun. We used our bodies to spin around the sun like the Earth does, to make day and night.

The Earth and sun also make the seasons. When the Earth tilts toward the sun, we have summer and feel warmer (more sun). When the Earth tilts away from the sun, we have winter and feel colder (less sun). With our bodies as the Earth, we tilted towards the sun and away from the sun to show how the Earth makes these seasons.

Look at our amazing learning!
